Road to Family… July 13th 2009
As we rolled into STL I was shocked at how easy the trip to the east coast and Canada was. A short break and we set out for Texas. One of my goals the summer was to reconnect with Family and friends. We traveled to Tejas so we could spend my wife’s birthday together with family. It was a lot of fun to hang with Ami’s Family. It has become more clear to me in the past few years what a blessing they are to me. I had a lot of great time with Ami’s dad. He recently started a driving school, which is funny because he cant drive!(ha ha ha just kiddin Bob!)(kind of) One night at the driving school painting the Logo on the store front, I noticed a name on a post it note on Bobby’s desk. I read it several times and thought there’s no way… it was the name of a kid that grew up in my neighborhood. I hadn’t talked to him or even thought of him in years. Now we are Facebook friends( think what you want Haters!) What an unbelievable reconnect all because my Father in Law is his daughters driving instructor. We spent great time with other folks that do what we do and it was so encouraging to see what the Lord is doing all over the PLACE. Through the words and love of a dear friend I was reminded that Family is so much more than Blood or Last names! Drive the distance and make the time. It’s worth it.
…he can be taught folks…
